Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how PrintSage - Product Customizer ("PrintSage", "we", "us", or "our"),
developed by WQ Apps, collects, uses, and protects information when you use our Shopify application.
1. Information We Collect
When you install PrintSage, we automatically access certain information from your Shopify account via Shopify's API:
- Merchant Data: Your Shopify store domain and shop identifier (via OAuth and order webhooks), plus your PrintSage dashboard login email if you register separately or we link an account during install. We request the read_orders Shopify scope only.
- Product Data: Product IDs and image URLs so you can draw design zones over them.
- Customer Design Assets: Images uploaded by your customers and custom text strings. These are processed client-side and stored securely via Cloudinary CDN solely to generate print-ready fulfillment files.
- Order Data: Order IDs to attach custom design files to orders for fulfillment purposes.
- Dashboard Support Chat: Questions you type in the in-dashboard support widget, our replies, optional thumbs-up or thumbs-down feedback, and non-sensitive dashboard status used to answer you (for example: whether a product photo or zone is set up, plan name, order counts, and recent error messages). We do not send passwords, API tokens, shop access tokens, customer design files, or full canvas data to support AI.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected data strictly to provide the core functionality of the app:
- Rendering the storefront design widget on your product pages
- Generating high-resolution print links for order fulfillment
- Updating merchant configurations and product zone settings
- Managing subscription plans and order limits
- Providing dashboard support chat and improving answer quality from optional feedback
We do not sell, rent, or share personal data or customer assets with third-party advertisers.
3. Data Storage and Security
Merchant configuration data, orders, and support chat logs are stored in a secure PostgreSQL database
hosted on Render. Customer-uploaded design assets are hosted via Cloudinary CDN and attached to Shopify
orders as line item properties. Support chat entries are linked to your merchant account and retained
while the app is installed so we can review feedback and improve answers. We retain order and configuration
data as long as the app is installed to ensure order history remains accessible to the merchant.
4. Third-Party Services
PrintSage uses the following third-party services:
- Cloudinary: For storing and delivering customer design files via CDN
- Render: For hosting our API and PostgreSQL database (merchant configs, orders, support chat logs)
- Shopify API: For store integration and order management
- OpenAI: For generating dashboard support chat replies. Only your support question and sanitized dashboard metadata are sent — not customer designs, passwords, or API tokens.
5. GDPR & CCPA Compliance
We fully respect the data privacy rights of merchants and their customers. In compliance with Shopify's platform requirements, we support the following mandatory GDPR webhooks:
- customers/data_request: Returns confirmation that we do not store personal shopper data beyond design files
- customers/redact: Deletes PrintSage orders and linked design drafts for the Shopify order IDs in the request (Cloudinary files may remain until manual deletion — contact support)
- shop/redact: Purges shop-linked data within 48 hours of app uninstallation, including dashboard support chat logs for that store's linked merchant account
6. Data Retention
If a merchant uninstalls PrintSage, shop-linked product, order, draft, and support chat records
are purged from our database within 48 hours via Shopify's shop/redact webhook.
Design files stored on Cloudinary CDN are retained for order fulfillment purposes unless explicitly
requested for deletion. Your separate dashboard login account (email/password) is not automatically
deleted by shop redaction unless you request account removal.
7. Children's Privacy
PrintSage is a business application intended for use by Shopify merchants. We do not knowingly
collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify merchants of any significant
changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of PrintSage after changes
constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
